Hobo International LogoAfter more than two decades in the business, Hobo International has launched its first bricks and mortar store. The leathergoods firm is keeping operations close to home with the boutique based near its headquarters in Annapolis, Maryland.

The striking store is located inside a revamped red and white townhouse which dates back to the 19th century. The two-storey space creates an intimate shopping environment for Hobo International’s handbags, wallets, and other leather goods.

The company’s chief executive officer David Brewer says it was important to keep Hobo International’s operations local.

When we decided to open the store, our hometown was the clear choice for us. Hobo’s corporate office is here, as well as our family,” he explained. “We really feel that Hobo’s first flagship belongs in the heart of the Annapolis community.

Family is key for Hobo International, which is currently owned and operated by Koren Ray, the daughter of company founder Toni Ray, and her husband David Brewer. It seems that family is embraced by the Anapolis community. It even hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the store’s grand opening!

Hobo International bags are currently available in more than 3000 stores across the United States, but the shift to its own boutiques represents a giant step forward for the brand.
