You've got to love an advertising campaign that knows who its real stars are. Iceberg Jeans may have enlisted the supermodel talents of Amber Valletta for this fashion photo, but this colorful satchel takes center stage.
Other photos do feature Amber's lovely face, but the harsh lighting and shadows mean the model plays second fiddle to the clothes and accessories.
It's a unique approach taken by fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, but I'm not sure this collection has the style to really pull it off. This bag's bold fuchsia and green floral print and the daring metallic purple trim is obviously inspired by the 1980s. The vibrant design should give this purse a fun retro vibe, but the execution just seems a little messy to me.
I'll try to reserve my judgment until I see the rest of the spring/summer 2009 collection, but perhaps Iceberg Jeans should have allowed Amber to take the focus away from these accessories!

Where can I purchase the purse in the Iceberg Ad? Checked their website and it doesn;t list any purses in the S/S 2009 collection.

Their website is a little confusing, but if you click on the image on the right side of the main page, you can see models carrying the purses in the S/S 2009 collection. Sadly there’s no online store, so you’re best visiting the retail outlets, which may be a problem depending on your location. They’re at Harvey Nichols in London, and there’s also stores in Milan, Rome, Amsterdam, and the United Arab Emirates. I hope that helps!

Thanks Lauren for the response. Yes I agree their website is confusing. I did visit the store listings but they are not websites. I live in North Carolina and thought maybe the higher end retailers or smaller boutiques perhaps in New York would sell the purse. I am still looking but so far no luck.

I must admit, I’m well and truly stumped. I found the Harvey Nichols online store, but they don’t seem to have any Iceberg bags in there. It seems crazy to me that a bag is starring in their ad, yet it’s so difficult to buy! I wish I could be more helpful Rita!

Thanks again Lauren for the comment. I am also stumped by this. I have e-mailed Harpers Bazaar magazine where I originally saw the ad and have never gotten a response. You would think Iceberg would want to actually sell this handbag, wouldn’t you? If they put it in the ad others must want it too. Even though most have trashed the purse saying it is “too ugly”. I simply must have it. I am on a mission. I will keep you posted.
