Gucci to Release Children’s Fashion Collection for Cashed Up Parents

Gucci is a fashion favorite amongst discerning adults, but now it hopes to find some even younger fans with the launch of its children’s collection.

The luxury line will be dividing into two collections: one for littlies from birth to two years of age and another for kids aged two to eight. We can look forward to sunglasses, shoes, handbags, and apparel.

Most of us would never dream of kitting out a sticky, drooling little ankle biter in designer duds they’ll outgrow in two seconds flat, but like any extravagance there’s bound to be a market for this. I’m sure Katie Holmes will snap up a few pieces for little Suri at any rate!

What worries me most though is the logo, a gold teddy bear which is clearly an attempt to impress the kids rather than label lovers. If you thought saying no to Happy Meals was hard, just wait until the tots want designer clothes.

The Gucci Children’s Collection will be unveiled in Florence on June 24 before being rolled out in stores around the world.
