Ecoist Recycles Chip Packets for Recycled Frito-Lay Bags

Ecoist is definitely a brand which believes in the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure. The label's latest eco-friendly range of purses is made from used chip packets!

The Recycled Frito-Lay range features handbags carefully crafted from old Doritos, SunChips, and Cheetos wrappers. Each package has been woven and sewn together by Peruvian manufacturers according to Fair Trade practices. I love the way the colorful packet designs are used to create bold, abstract prints. You'd almost never guess these bags lived former lives as chip packets!

The limited edition line features some of Ecoist's most popular handbag shapes including shoulder bags, coin purses, pochettes, and baguettes. The collection also includes bracelets, placemats, and some cheeky chip bowls!

In keeping with its commitment to sustainability, Ecoist will plant a tree for every bag sold, including the new limited edition Frito-Lay purses. The Frito-Lay handbags are available from $22 from the Ecoist website.
