Eco-friendly accessories label Collina Strada has created a trio of sustainable biker-chic bags exclusively for New York City’s KAIGHT.

The edgy handbags are made in the City that Never Sleeps from recycled canvas and faux leather colored with eco-friendly inks. Fans of Collina Strada would be familiar with the Cartella, Moto, and Sierra designs. However the vegan material used here should please animal loving girls who shun the label’s usual organic leather.

One of those women is a KAIGHT’s sales associates who loved Collina Strada’s designs but felt frustrated they were made of real vegetable-tanned leather. Like many animal activists she did not use or wear genuine leather products, and could not indulge in the designs while remaining true to her principles.

It really brought home the fact that many who choose not to wear leather aren’t able to purchase or wear many of the trendier, fun designers and have to opt for only vegan labels,” explained KAIGHT’s proprietor Kate McGregor.

The vegan Collina Strada purses are available from KAIGHT’s stores, including its website, now. With prices starting at $265 they’re on the high side, but knowing that 10% of the proceeds will benefit Brooklyn’s BARC Animal Shelter should make it a bit easier to part with your cash.
