Celebrities Love Judith Leiber Clutches | Stars Opt for Glittering Purses on Red Carpet

Some of her designs are questionable (remember the macaw parrot?), but it seems celebrities can't get enough of Judith Leiber's purses. In a sign that the financial climate is shifting, Hollywood stars are leaving their affordable Kotur clutches at home and opting for Judith Leiber's glittering, and pricy, minaudieres.

Natalie Portman recently relied on the Discoball Sphere Clutch to add sparkle to her Gotham Independent Film Awards ensemble. Rachel McAdams was also spotted carrying a dazzling black Judith Leiber purse to the premiere of her latest film, Sherlock Holmes. Slumdog Millionaire star Frieda Pinto, flamboyant pop princess Katy Perry, and British actress Rachel Weisz are also fans of Judith Leiber's quirky creations.

But it's all well and good for them. With most Judith Leiber bags costing several thousand dollars, they're out of the reach of most mere mortals. Word is that many designers will help us get the look for less though. Expect to see more purses featuring sequins, pailettes, and fun animal shapes in department stores in 2010.
