Car Designer Frank Kurtis Inspires Retro Neiko Handbags | New York Label’s V8 Collection

You don’t have to be a car enthusiast to appreciate the latest handbag collection from independent New York accessories brand Neiko. The label has recently released its V8 line, a range which pays tribute to American race car designer Frank Kurtis.

Kurtis made iconic midget and roadster racing car designs for the Indy 500 race. They were often regarded as the best looking on the track, and many of them had the goods to back it up. In fact, Kurtis was the artistic brains behind five Indianapolis champions.

Neiko fell for Kurtis’ bold colors and stripes, and reinterpreted them in the handbag range. They’re delightfully retro, and practical to boot. Each one is spacious, lined with cotton for durability, and equipped with metal feet to keep the exterior safe.

Sadly what you’re keeping safe is vinyl rather than leather, which does make these bags a little pricy at more than $100 each. However you can request a customized number to get more value for your dollar.

The V8 Neiko bags are available online from Supermarket and the Neiko website.
