This bag, unfortunately, combines two things that I am really tired of: canvas totes and graphic prints. Since when does slapping a kitschy silk screen down on a plain cotton bag count as "designing"? Ugh. Personal grievances aside, the Boat bag is pretty cute, even if I feel like I've already seen it a million times.
The mint green color of the Boat tote is very of the moment. Pastels are everywhere these days. This mint has a crisp fresh appeal that is more interesting to me than the peachy pinks and baby blues I've been seeing so much of. The print can also best be described as cute. The anchor design has a sweet retro appeal that I like, even if I'm not sure how many people will buy a bag just for boating.
The simple canvas carryall has a totally traditional style that is versatile and easy to carry. If it were lined, It might be a little more durable, but the canvas will do a pretty good job on its own.
Overall, the bag is cute, but it's not particularly original and I'm not sure it's really worth its $135 price tag.
