While many clutch purses are strictly after five affairs, the contemporary good looks of Treesje’s Metro make it just as appropriate for daytime toting.
Complementary stitching around the borders of the purse and its flap add definition to the buttery soft lambskin. The sexy angular pleating in the centre adds even more structure to both front and back. But I’m not sure about the way the leather seems to bunch irregularly at the sides. A much smoother finish would have looked much more chic.
The Metro doubles up on security, with a zipper and vintage-inspired turnlock clasp. That makes it a little fiddly to get into, especially if your cell phone is ringing, but I still admire the extra safety measures. Open them up to reveal a space which is a little larger than the average. The zippered change pocket and cell phone slip help keep the essentials in order, leaving more space for your other party must-haves.
With all that room inside, it’s strange that Treesje hasn’t included a tuckaway shoulder strap. The styling seems to suggest a purse which suits both daytime and evening wear, but I’d get sick of carrying it in my hand for any extended period of time.
The $350 price tag seems a little steep at first, but when you consider the versatility of this day-to-night clutch it doesn’t seem so outlandish.
