I hear the zip and snaps aren’t the most reliable, so you may want to be careful what you carry inside them. Personally I’d play it safe and keep my valuables in the inside zip pocket.
The glossy exterior comes from synthetic rather than leather, but that should come as no surprise at this price point. It may not have the staying power of calfskin, but this shiny surface suits the retro look.
The long strap gives the Marietta the everyday versatility busy girls look for. It would work as a shoulder strap, but it’s also long enough for cross-body carrying for a more casual look. It looks a little skinny though, so I’d avoid loading up the Marietta too much. These sort of synthetic straps are prone to snapping with a moment’s notice.
