I am really infatuated with Chloe’s new line of Marti bags. I always love Chloe’s hip, feminine designs, but these bags are particularly lovely with their subtly unusual colors and sculptural zipper-sided bows. If you like the Marti handbags, this wallet is an amazing complement to any one of them.
The tan leather on this wallet has a rich, cafe au lait color that looks beautiful with the darker tan suede accents. The smooth leather is soft and supple, and the suede provides a great textural contrast.
There’s nothing particularly unusual about the shape of this wallet, it is traditional and elongated, but the interior features are definitely worth mentioning. There is an interior zipped pocket, which is perfect for coins, which I love, as coin compartments are disappearing as rapidly as the value of US coins diminishes. But coin money is still worth something in Europe, and some of us in the States still carry the antiquated trinkets as well.
There are also slots for credit cards and whatnot, and two large, accordion-style pouch pockets for cash and notes or receipts. This is the kind of wallet that will keep you organized as long as you don’t try to overfill it.
The gold tone hardware sets off the warm tones of the leather and suede, and the suede zipper bow on the front flap is a sweet, feminine, but still contemporary, touch. At $235, the Marti wallet is a little on the pricey side, but definitely worthwhile if you aren’t prone to leaving your wallet in gas stations or bars.
