With its retro good looks and luxury materials, it’s pretty easy to fall for the Lovers Clutch from Rebecca Minkoff
Its slouchy soft leather body gives the Lovers the kind of relaxed feel that can work for daytime and nighttime use. That versatility is definitely something worth considering if the $295 price tag seems affronting at first. The leather is available in a range of colors and prints; there are eight in all including alligator embossed, tie dyed, and classic matte. It’s always lovely to be spoiled for choice, especially when we’re paying such a high price.
The soft, supple skin contrasts with the black wood which forms the handle and frame. The bean shaped hole seems a little small for all but the daintiest of hands though. I love its retro looks, but something tells me it won’t be functional. That could be a fatal flaw if you hope to use this purse during the day.
At least the interior is up to the job, with more space than the average and more pockets too. Each is trimmed in more of that luxury leather for style and durability. Just remember though, while there’s space to spare loading the Lovers up might not be the smartest idea. With a less than satisfactory carrying option, you don’t want to make life harder for yourself.
The Lovers isn’t the perfect daytime clutch, but its retro styling should still earn it a few fans.
