Proenza Schouler’s PS1 bags were released a few years ago and became iconic almost instantly. Their amazingly minimal design has changed very little since its inception, which only goes to show how perfectly right the design was to begin with. This linen update gives the PS1 a preppy, but chic, look.
The combination of materials on the PS1 is truly masterful. The black suede, brown leather, and beige linen look amazing together. The tones are exactly right, and the mix of textures gives this simple bag extra interest.
I love the way the multiple colors have been used to accent the clean lines of the design. All the long edges have been piped in black, which outlines the back and creates an almost colorblocked effect that is eye-catching and attractive, although I might worry a little about keeping that beige linen clean.
Even still, you really can’t do much better than this timeless design, even if the $1,485 price tag is a bit steep.
