Miu Miu’s inability to maintain a consistent aesthetic has often been a disappointment to me. Lately, I’ve found its designs to combine classic aesthetics with a modern sensibility in a unique and interesting way. This leather shoulder bag is a good example of what Miu Miu does best.
The lively color of this bag adds a lot to its appeal. It’s a great minty green that strikes an interesting balance between pastel and neon. Actually, it’s almost exactly the color of mint chocolate chip ice cream, which makes me love it for its nostalgia value.
The eye-catching color is balanced out nicely with the simple, streamlined design of the bag. It has no obvious ornamentation save the geometric clasp, which is a really spot on addition. The rectangular shape and flap front design make it very easy to wear. Although, with such a slim strap, I’m not sure how comfortable it will be to carry.
At $1095, I think this bag is a bit overpriced, but the solid design and quality craftsmanship make it a worthwhile investment for a girl who needs an extra dose of color therapy.
