Okay, I need to make a confession. I am officially over looking at resort bags in the middle of winter. If they were inventive or interesting, that would be fine. But so far they really haven’t been. Michael Kors is a major culprit in the lackluster department, and this rattan and leather clutch isn’t doing much to change my mind.
Rattan is actually a pretty interesting choice of materials for a clutch. The problem is that, combined with the off-white leather trim, it’s so structured that it just comes off looking like a box rather than a box clutch. So, it’s a bit more like home decor than a fashion accessory.
As home decor, I might actually love it. It has a fabulous minimal gold-toned clasp and a canvas lining that would make it perfect for stowing jewelry. As a bag, however, I’m just not feeling it. I can’t imagine what outfit goes right with a jewelry box, and I can’t imagine it being comfortable to carry, either.
At $170, you might be willing to invest in this clutch for your armoire, but personally, I’m just letting this one pass me by.
