MICHAEL Michael Kors has recently become one of my more favored diffusion lines. Unfortunately, this cotton twill tote is so terribly ugly that it’s making me rethink my opinion entirely. I don’t know whether this bag is a fluke or whether his more successful designs are.
The cotton twill on this bag would be fine if it weren’t for the frayed seam detail. I don’t really think that frayed seams are ever a good look, but especially not on an already pretty plain bag that purports to be designer. Plus, the way that the milky, faded-looking color mixes with the tan leather is just plain dull.
The shape of this tote is also dull. Honestly, it looks like the kind of thing you might pick up in a college bookstore for under $3. So, I guess it might be fine for a college student just looking for any old thing to lug their books around in, but I seriously doubt that any student will willingly shell out a whopping $295 for this tote. Seriously, MK, what are you thinking?
