A bag which makes a statement as strong as the Touche clutch could only come from one designer: Mary Frances.
Frances is truly the queen of the flamboyant. She subscribes to the theory that more is more, and piles accent upon accent onto her purses. With the Touche she’s given us beads and faceted stones, zipper-trimmed flowers and tassels. It’s a lot, but whether it’s too much will be up to you!
Personally I think Mary Frances gets away with her extravagance. Choosing dark colors like black, purple, and gray tempers all those accents just enough. It’s not going to work its way into your everyday wardrobe, but what an impression it’d make on the red carpet!
I’m not sure how all those bits and pieces would feel in your palm, so I’m thrilled to see Mary Frances add a shoulder strap which is every bit as eye-catching as the purse it’s attached to. This chain is long, so you can easily wear the purse as a shoulder bag or cross-body depending on your whim. It’s also detachable, so it need not clutter that small interior when it’s not in use.
The Touche’s petite stature doesn’t leave us with a lot of storage room, but it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make. If it were too large, this purse would appear gaudy. I can travel light to avoid that fate, but can you?
For $276 this Touche purse isn’t cheap, particularly considering it’s made from synthetic rather than leather, but perhaps it’s original enough to warrant its hefty price tag!
