Business is not usually what I think of when I think Marc Jacobs. Not that his designs aren’t suitable in the office, they just aren’t particularly briefcase-y, you know?
That being said, this clutch is perfectly designed for its purpose, which is to keep papers and files organized and well-sheathed. And while it is perfectly business-like, it still retains the Marc Jacobs unique stamp of whimsy that makes his things so lovable.
The chic, simple shape is accented only by the demure logo-plate, upraised stitch detail, and sweet pleating on the front. It has to be the most feminine attache I have ever seen, without being floral or over-the-top. The smooth grained violet gray leather is subtle and luxurious, and would greatly complement the neutrals in your work wardrobe.
The only thing I’m not sure I love about is this clutch’s size. At 11″ x 8″ x .5″, it is only just big enough to stash average sized papers, and not thick enough to hold that many. Most folders will simple have to find another home. And its a little awkwardly shaped, without a handle, to carry as a clutch on its own.
So, while the clutch is lovely, it isn’t particularly versatile. But, if you only need it for a few important documents, it’s a sure way to carry them in signature Marc Jacobs style.
