What happens to holiday bags when the holiday party season is over? Well, for one thing, they still line the shelves of all your favorite retailers, electronic or otherwise. And, they look a little different, maybe. All the bling you needed on New Years looks a little gaudier in February. Unless you’re like me, and you think a healthy dose of daily bling never hurt anyone. Well, the Marc Jacobs Eugenie Wristlet has it if you’re looking for it.
The soft metallic leather has a pouch style main compartment with a fold over flap that fastens with a press stud. The inside has has a small zippered pocket to keep all your little jingly things in check, and is fully lined. The 9″ x 6″ x 1″ size seems petite for a clutch these days, but will fit neatly into the palm of your hand when filled with just a few items.
The most striking part of the Eugenie, of course, besides the crinkly silver metallic leather, is the line of gold and glitter pyramid studs at the front of the clutch. Their sparkle is almost over-the-top against the shiny leather, but the small size of the clutch makes it seem like it should be judged more like jewelry than as a full-sized accessory.
Personally, I like a lot of sparkle in my accessories, but I still feel a little on the fence about this one. There’s no detail in particular that I find unattractive, but somehow, the total package doesn’t quite gel with me. That being said, I know that there’s a girl out there who could rock this bag well.
