This is going to be a hard review for me to write, because the Leola has so many of my likes covered. It’s Marc Jacobs, it’s black, it’s got a lot of zippers, and it’s made of lambskin, so it’s basically everything that I am, personally, looking for in a handbag. That being said, I will try to remain semi-unbiased.
The lambskin really reels me in. It’s just so soft and pliable and even when you first buy this bag it’s going to feel comfortable and worn in. There won’t be any of that awkward phase when your bag looks way newer than everything else you own.
The shape is also really spot on. It’s almost a hobo and it’s almost a rectangle, so it’s got the best of both the boxy and the curvy worlds. The size makes it so that this lovely hunk of lambskin is going to rest against your body just right, and the handle is nice and wide so that when you fill it full of everything you own, it isn’t going to create a permanent crease in your shoulder.
Let’s move on to the zippers. They won’t be for everyone, but their perfectly imperfect placement makes the Leola the perfect level of posh punk for hipster types with design fetishes. If I had $500 right now, I would buy this bag without even thinking about it.
Well, I tried not to be biased, but this bag is just a dream come true with a slightly too high price tag.
