I’ve weirdly been saving this review for a couple of days. In a saving the best for last sort of way. I’m not sure why. Although Lanvin is one of my favorite lines, I don’t really go in much for satin or sparkles. Still, there’s something really compelling about the old school glamour of this silver clutch.
The silver satin makes a very subtle statement. Unlike so many metallics, it shines without looking ostentatious. It’s a bit subdued, and the color and sheen are versatile enough to pair with a lot of different evening ensembles.
The shape of the bag is simple, but very elegantly executed. It’s a true envelope clutch, with all the folds and everything. There’s something imperfect about the design that makes it seem better than if it were starched and overly crisp. Instead it looks soft and wearable. The rhinestone accented clasp and chain are both truly beautiful details.
I think this clutch is priced reasonably, for the line and style, at $690. How much would you pay for that old Hollywood glamour, anyways?
