Kenneth Cole’s affordable Reaction line always provides modern accessories for girls on a budget, and this Shop Around Tote is no exception.
Considering its budget $89 price the use of PVC, rather than leather, is to be expected. Kenneth Cole does its best to dress the man-made material up though with snake print and plenty of shine. Honestly I think the designer may have gone overboard with the gloss, as it tends to look a bit cheap rather than rich, but it’s not a deal breaker for me.
The fabric does its best to appear sophisticated, but the casual slouch points to the tote’s everyday application. The mall isn’t the only place you’ll tote this bag; I can also imagine it working at a restaurant, or even a creative workplace.
It’s certainly got the goods for day to day use. The slim style makes it look elegant, but it’s deceptively spacious. You should have no problems carrying your personal technology in the multifunctional slip pockets, bottles of water in the side pouches, and a copy of your favorite fashion mag in the generous main compartment. You’ll also find a zippered pocket on the back and another one inside, so there’s no excuse for running out of storage space. A choice of dual shoulder straps or detachable cross-body strap also adds value and versatility.
It might not be the height of luxury, but Kenneth Cole really does offer us plenty for our dollar here. Perhaps we needn’t Shop Around for that new tote after all – I think we’ve found it!
