Kara Ross has always impressed me with her sophisticated clutches carefully crafted from luxurious exotics. But sadly this Oriental twist on her popular Nox clutch has left me cold.
All of the right elements are there. The nude Painted Desert python is right on trend, a shade that’s feminine without being fussy and incredibly wearable. That smoky gray topaz adorning the front flap is a gorgeous contrast to the pale snakeskin. And then there is the shiny, sophisticated gold hardware to pull it all together.
But then Kara Ross goes and spoils it all with the koi fish. This bright red and orange Asian motif only cheapens the clutch, reminding me more of an Ed Hardy accessory than any luxury purse.
Yet we still see Kara Ross charging those luxury prices. In this case, it’s $1785. Strip away the fish and I might consider it, but right now this is a definite miss.
