Oh, Jimmy Choo, why are you doing this to me? Usually, I have such nice things to say about Choo’s designs, but this is definitely an exception. This glazed canvas tote is overpriced, busy, and honestly, kind of tacky.
The print on the Scarlet’s material is what’s really killing me here. It’s a collage of astrological symbols and graffiti style Choo logos. It’s confusing, it’s busy, and seriously, who wants a bag covered with astrological symbols? In glazed canvas, no less?
The shape of the tote is fine. It’s really just nothing special. I like the stud detailing on the straps, but I think they’re a little too skinny for this tote. The black leather edging is, I think, supposed to add a classy touch, but it really doesn’t. It just frames the terrible print.
You could pay $895 for this tote or you could use that money to buy a roundtrip ticket to Europe. Seriously, what would you choose?
