Jimmy Choo’s past few seasons have totally converted me from an absolute naysayer to a woman who fawns and drools over every new thing he comes up with. Why? Because his style is evolving into a more street smart elegance that appeals to downtown types like me. This Adele fringed bag is bound to win over a few new converts like me.
The brown leather on this bag is buttery soft and has a fantastic brown-gray color that is at once neutral and still interesting. The snakeskin insert at center gives the bag a boho chic appeal, and is set off by the silver logo buckles at its corners. Honestly, I’m not really sure how I feel about the buckles, as I think they’re a little too shiny for the shabby chic of the Adele, but they aren’t horrible, either.
The multiple layers of fringe on this bag are what really make it amazing. There is fringe literally on every plane of this bag. The front flap has fringe, there’s fringe under the flap, even the sides have fringe! I might usually find this overkill, but I kind of love the organic look it gives the Adele.
Truth be told, this is a pretty bizarre looking bag. It’s squarish and looks something like a furry animal with four buckle eyes. But something about it really works. And it works so well that I’m pretty sure you’re going to see a lot of it this season, despite the $1,395 price tag.
