Halston’s Heritage line is one of the most fashionable and least expensive diffusion lines out there. It consistently produces bags of high quality at low prices, and this watersnake clutch is a great example ofits hip, young aesthetic.
I love the look of watersnake. It isn’t as durable as python or some of the other exotic skins out there, but it isn’t as expensive, either. Plus, the light weight of the fabric makes it perfect on slouchy styles, or voluminous ones like this. I love the subtle gradations in color on this bag and the way the material works with the pleated design.
This is not your average clutch. It has a pillow-y pleated shape that ensures it will stand out in a crowd, but because it doesn’t have any extra embellishment, it still comes off as sleek and sophisticated. This is the kind of clutch that can easily make the transition between high brow cocktail party and downtown party scene. It’s pretty big, though, and I wish it had the option of a shoulder strap, as it might be a little awkward to carry around all night.
But the price, at $275, is so good that I am willing to overlook the bag’s straplessness. It’s a very cool accessory at a very cool price.
