DKNY has been sort of off and on all season. It’s run the gamut from trendy and quirky to classic and low key. Unfortunately, DKNY’s version of low key is, well, a little boring. This textured leather bag is making me yawn.
The textured off-white leather is crisp and summer ready. It is, however, a little too white to wear long past summer, so it’s a little limited in terms of wearability. Not that I’m a stickler for that no white after Labor Day rule, I’m really not. It’s just that this bag’s conservative attitude makes me think that it should follow the rules.
The shape is pretty standard. It’s neither contemporary nor retro. It’s tailored and feminine, so it will work for a lot of more classic styles, especially office wear. The clasps are smooth, but don’t add much to the style factor of the bag.
There’s nothing really wrong with the bag, but there’s nothing particularly right about it either. At $345 it’s reasonably priced, but honestly, why bother?
