PETA will be none too pleased about it, but Christian Louboutin serves up real fur with this luxurious Anastasia clutch.
While synthetic varieties have come a long way in recent years, there’s still something so opulent about genuine fur. I’m dying to bury my face in this clutch and just lap up that plush finish. Louboutin’s signature stiletto shoe clasp peeks up proudly from the rich, thick fur.
I do have serious ethical reservations about this purse though. The fox fur comes from Finland, a country where the animal is an endangered species. If real fox fur was really necessary, why not source it from a country like Australia where the animal is considered a pest? Killing of an already threatened population in the name of fashion seems really tasteless.
The price tag is the final insult for me. This is a luxury purse, but its $2345 seems excessive considering its simplicity. Really there’s nothing more than that fox fur here after all. I have serious reservations about the Anastasia, but there’s no denying that it’s a real status piece.
