Anya Hindmarch’s aesthetic is sometimes unreliable, but often fabulous. This Lacing shoulder bag is a great example of where I hope her look is going.
I know it’s not really PC, but I love snake skin, python in particular. The amazing variations in color and give the material so much depth. I love the bounty of python skin on this bag, as it makes the look immediately luxurious.
The shape of the lacing hobo is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It has a pretty traditional hobo bottom, and even a pretty traditional hobo top, but the shape has been elongated and tied up in the middle with a drawstring. The drawstring creates a soft, pleated effect, and the tasseled string itself ties off into a feminine bow. This is a great way to soften up a pretty edgy boho design.
At $2995, the Lacing is pricey, but let’s be honest; anything made out of this many snakes is going to be, and it’s one of the best Hindmarch designs that I’ve seen so far.
