I hadn’t really heard of Antik Batik until a few seasons ago, but I am duly impressed by its offerings. It has this very posh rock ‘n’ roll bohemian aesthetic that is immediately recognizable, and its prices are almost always amazing. This Bongo bag is one of the best I’ve seen in the line yet.
The smooth black leather on the Bongo perfectly offsets the gold metal accents. The strength of the Bongo’s aesthetic lies in the details. The ample fringe creates a look that is simultaneously edgy and earthy, and the sequins bring it all together in a very chic heavy metal sort of way.
The shape of the bag is perfectly retro. The pouch looks like it came right off the shoulder of a boho biker chick sometime in the late ’70s. That being said, the style fits into contemporary culture perfectly, and could definitely be classed up with some gold stilettos. The only thing I don’t really like about the Bongo is the fringe on the sides of the bag. It makes the purse look a little “hairy.”
For $335 it will be hard to beat this very stylish bag, and frankly, with quality like this, it might be impossible.
