I am in love with Alexander Wang. Season after season he delivers the absolute coolest in hipster chic. This Devere bag is a great example of his signature cutting edge aesthetic.
This material is one that Wang has been using a lot this season, and for good reason. It’s absolutely extraordinary. The smooth leather has a gentle texture until you get to the center of the bag, where it has beautiful ostrich stamping.
All of Wang’s designs this season have had strongly geometric shapes, as opposed to last season, when all his bags were slouchy. This one has a distinctive, almost coffin shape that is truly memorable. No worries, though; it’s not depressing or weird or anything. It’s just a little gothic in a way that will go with a lot of today’s edgier styles.
Another thing I like about Alexander Wang is that he keeps his prices pretty reasonable for the designer realm. At $795, the Devere is definitely a very cool investment.
