Alexander McQueen’s series of Knuckle Duster clutches is one of my favorite in the line. These clutches are one part brass knuckles, one part elegant clutch, and all badass edgy attitude. This lace version is sugar meets spice in an explosion of rock-n-roll.
There’s nothing better than black lace against nude satin. On this bag, it has a sexy, lingerie vibe. But this is no flimsy bit of cloth. The hard box case creates a sturdy structural backdrop for the soft, feminine fabric.
The elongated design of this Knuckle Duster gives it a subtle elegance. If it were smaller, the handle would be more of a centerpiece, and all of the delicious contrast between the soft lace and hard metal would be lost.
Would you get a load of the skull ring handle? No, really. Giant black cabochons, skulls with bejeweled eyes, this handle has it all. The burnished gold is a surprising finish. For some reason, I would have expected silver, perhaps because it’s more traditionally rock-n-roll. But what makes this bag great is its surprising combination of design, isn’t it?
