Boston bags tend to be fairly staid affairs, but 7 Chi shakes things up a bit with this Tie-Dye Boston style satchel.
This handbag is far from the reserved number we expect from a Boston. The shape is classic, but the finish is anything but ordinary. The metallic leather finish is mottled with red to create a retro, tie-dyed look. Honestly I think it makes this luxury material appear a little tacky, but I’m sure it’ll worm its way into the heart of some hippie chicks! I also think such a wacky surface needs no further embellishments, so the pyramid studs seem like overkill to me, but again it’s a matter of personal taste.
Far less subjective is the practical design which incorporates style and substance. The interior is generous, but the slip and zip pockets ensure it never feels unmanageable. Such a large bag could easily become heavy once loaded up, but the long shoulder strap should make carrying it a bit easier. That’s a good thing too, because the regular handles are only long enough to hang over your arm.
It goes without saying that this Tie-Dye bag won’t suit everyone, but it’s not supposed to. If you’re looking to make an original style statement, this satchel will help you do it for $264.
