This is exactly the kind of style I'm used to seeing from Whiting & Davis. Despite the brand's recent divergence from their signature vintage-like look into some slightly more contemporary designs, the Plaid Mesh Flap Clutch brings things back to the somewhat expected.

That doesn't mean that this handbag is boring or any less worth considering, though. I, for one, am a fan of Whiting & Davis' well-known style and like the majority of the bags that the label releases whether they have modern touches or are inspired by the past.

The most striking feature of this clutch is the unique pattern that is created by careful placement of varying textures and colors of brass mesh. There's a bit of genius to it when you take a closer look. Rounded, flat, and peaked rows of mesh come together to form the pretty plaid pattern.

While it might be typical for Whiting & Davis, this intricately-designed flap clutch is definitely one-of-a-kind in the evening bag category. Although $198 might be a little steep for a bag you'll probably only carry a few times out of the year, the style and quality are things that won't be worn out any time soon.
