Truthfully, Roberto Cavalli has never been one of my favorite designers. His baroque, super embellished style is usually just a little bit too over-the-top for me. But this black suede clutch really defies what I've come to expect from Cavalli.

It is embellished, of course, but it's not overdone. In fact, I'd say that Cavalli is following through on the stud trend with a much lighter touch than most. The black suede resonates with a lot of today's 80's styles, and will look great with the soon to be ubiquitous suede over the knee boot.

The collection of studs on the front of the clutch gives it variety. It isn't just the same old row after row of silver studs. And the snake chain strap is gorgeous all on its own. Plus, it's set close to the bag so it'd the perfect clutch strap: too short for the shoulder, just right for holding the clutch in the palm of your hand.

This badgirl chic bag may be the perfect complement to this fall's styles, but I think that it's elegant enough to transcend the trends and outlast the fall.
