At its heart this is a very traditional, very safe clutch. Its black satin body is conservative and classic, and its flap-over style tried and tested. But it's that pretty pink bow that really brings it alive. It's the sort of feature that will make girls swoon, or turn up their nose. Personally I fall into the former camp, but I appreciate such a feminine accent won't appeal to everyone.

I admit that the jeweled flower at the bow's center has taken things a step too far. It's pretty gaudy, and I think the Catenab could have done without it. However it does dress the purse up and make it perfect for high-class functions and red carpets.

It's not often that we get a purse that would suit such sophisticated occasions for just $71. I won't pretend that it can go toe-to-toe with the Judith Leibers of the world, but it's an affordable accessory for those special nights out.
