Mulberry Antony Leather Cross-Body Bag | Black Vegetable Tanned Practical Handbag

Mulberry Antony BagFrom its distinctive turn-lock closure to its richly pebbled leather, this Antony cross-body bag could only be a Mulberry.

I have mixed feelings about the Antony's style. On one hand, Mulberry bags are becoming real status symbols. They look good no matter what the situation; they're not too casual for dinner at most restaurants, but they also make an everyday outfit seem more sophisticated.

But when a designer clings so fiercely to a creative vision, it also gets very predictable. Before clamping eyes on the Antony I could have imagined just what it would look like. Now and again, I wish Mulberry would surprise us.

There aren't any surprises here, not even on the inside. A small pocket is hidden beneath the flap, but there are none inside. The Antony isn't large enough to warrant an extensive organization system though, so I don't mind their omission too much.

I am disappointed in the cross-body strap though. While the Antony's body is made of luxurious leather, the strap is simple canvas. It's tough and comfortable to wear, but it cheapens the look a bit.

The Antony is well-priced for a bag that will work its way into your wardrobe so easily. At $490, I can definitely see value for money.
