Miu Miu's Spring '09 accessory collection has a lot of complicated textures and patterns in it, and some of them are a lot better executed than others. I was really disappointed with the Geometric Snake Print Bag, and while this bag is very similar, it is generally better looking.
The polka dot print over the whip snakeskin leather is interesting, and texturally rich. I think that it would be more successful on a larger bag, where the combination is less compacted, but I don't hate it on this 12" x 6" x 2" tote. The gold print logo and shiny gold hardware complement the black and white print of the East West Shoulder bag beautifully.
The dual handles are a little short, with just a 4-inch drop, but the removable shoulder strap makes them sensible, since they are just for hand-holding. I am a little leery of the boxy shape of the bag, and think that it may not be that flattering for all women, since when full it will stand out far from the body.
Overall, the Miu Miu East West Shoulder Bag is a cute carryall with a few design flaws that aren't really fatal.
