Nutcracker Bags

Nutcracker BagsCanadian designer Marie Saint Pierre has collaborated with Montreal Couture and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal on a small accessories capsule collection.

The line, inspired by the classic ballet The Nutcracker, benefits The Nutcracker Foundation for Children, a charity which allows disadvantaged children to see this uplifting ballet.

The Dream handbag, the Robin wristlet, and the Clara charm are inspired by Clara’s voyage in The Nutcracker and make the perfect accomplice for your every outing,” explained Marie Saint Pierre.

The Dream’s dramatic black body is made from double-ply wool jersey embellished with touches of gold. The simple style is adorned with a basic metallic clasp, but you could jazz it up with the Clara charm or even your own earring or brooch.

The Clara charm can also affix to the smaller Robin Wristlet. Its name pays tribute to Robin Mathes, a soloist with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens who made the part of Clara her own. Its wool jersey body is given edge with leather and satin ribbons and metal chains.

The purses were designed to meet the needs of touring ballet dancers, but that should make them useful to any girls leading busy lives. Each piece has been carefully crafted by local Canadian artisans, and produced in limited numbers.

The collection is currently available exclusively from Style & Conscience. After this pre-sale ends it’ll be available from The Nutcracker Market at The Palais des Congres de Montreal from November 25 to December 5.
