The opposite of minimalism is called maximalism, and this is what it looks like. I'm honestly surprised that this look is coming to us from Marc Jacobs, as his designs are usually a little cleaner and more pared down, but I am delighted nonetheless. I have seen a lot of "ethnic" inspired boho designs lately, but this is on the more interesting side of new.

The gathered multiple flap top is composed of mustard suede, blue snakeskin, and zebra printed calfskin. This is not a combination I would have thought of, but the result is lovely. It strikes a precarious balance of textures and colors that is absolutely intriguing, and, I think, quite lovely.

The pouch shape of the bag really suits the style, and is lined entirely in smooth grained leather. The back of the front flaps feature metallic leather linings, a small luxurious detail for the afficianado. I'm not always a fan of dangling charms, but I like the ornately designed leather tassels hangng from the side. They complement the asymmetry of the bg beautifully.

The guitar strap inspired shoulder strap is a touch that I am not entirely sure about. One part of me loves this additional texture, and another part thinks that maybe a simpler leather strap would have been sufficient. In any case, this is definitely not a bag for the faint of heart, but I think it will find a lot of fans, anyhow.
