Lanvin always seems to strike a pitch perfect balance between elegant timelessness and cutting edge design. The Happicolo is way more classic than it is cutting edge, but it is fabulously beautiful, nonetheless.
The complexly quilted black leather on the Happicolo is trademark Lanvin. It has a cross-hatched effect that makes it stand out in a sea of quilted bags. The softness of the leather makes it extra luxurious, and it has a nice soft sheen to it that really complements its elegance.
Lanvin's kept the shape nice and simple on the Happicolo. The size is also pared down, which makes it perfect for wearing across the body. I'm really excited that bags are getting a little smaller, lately, and the Happicolo is a great example of why. Proportionally, it's very flattering. And how much do you really need to carry around with you, anyways?
The details on the Happicolo are what make it special. The ornate grommeted clasp, the grosgrain-laced chain strap, these are all Lanvin staples that make their bags recognizable and special. At $1,680, I think the Happicolo is a hefty investment, but it's one that I would make if I had the means.
