Just when all the studded purses were beginning to look alike, Kooba delivers something new with the Skye clutch.

Rather than accenting the top with studs, Kooba unexpectedly smatters the metal near the clutch's base. It inverts our expectations the way Alexander Wang did with his Coco Duffel, and just as it did there the risk pays off. These faceted studs of all different sizes are scattered, are in edgy contrast to the elegant angled pleats above. The look could have so easily become confused, but somehow the clashing details work.

The Skye is a slender creature, but it can hold more than you might expect. The front flap hides not one but two compartments ready to take care of the essentials. I wouldn't cram in too many luxuries if you want to maintain the Skye's smooth good looks, but you might be able to squeeze in the cosmetics you normally have to leave at home.

The clutch can be carried traditionally by hand, or worn as a wristlet. That leather loop is adorned with those same edgy studs for a final dose of attitude.
