Jimmy Choo Saba Textured Leather Tote | Unimpressive Sand Colored Tote

Jimmy choo Saba Textured Leather ToteJimmy Choo's past few seasons have been fantastic. It's really given its posh aesthetic a street savvy makeover, and I, personally, love it. Unfortunately, this Saba textured leather tote is not the most interesting bag the line has come up with lately.

Part of the problem lies in the material. I love the sandy color and the fabulously weathered texture of the leather, but the leaf appliques and crystal embellishment really take away from the style. They have a retro 80s look that might work if it weren't for the strap bracelets. I know that they're sort of a Choo signature, but there's just a little too much going on here.

The simple tote shape is refreshingly minimal. I love the slouchiness and the unfinished edges. The problem is that they just don't combine that well with the blingy nature of the adornments.

Frankly, I just can't figure out what the goal was for the design of this bag, and for $1,995, I expect a solid style statement.
