Jalda may offer some fairly unexpected bag materials like stingray and eel skin, but even this brand has its version of the ever-present and oh-so-popular croc-embossed leather handbag.
The Jalda Bean Clutch, a favorite style from the label, gets its name from the bean-shaped cutout handle. The hardware takes front seat when the purse is folded over to carry as a clutch. The detail gives the Bean Clutch a bit of a retro feel, though the vibe is somewhat subtle.
This convertible fold-over shape might be a little more practical than some handbags, but I’m not completely sold on the unfolded tote option. Like most purses with this silhouette, the Bean Clutch opens up to a vertical tote. It seems like a great feature until you realize that the cutout handle is only on one side of the opening. Even with the magnetic closure holding everything in, I’d much prefer a handle on either side, or at least a detachable strap.
However, this croc-embossed Jalda clutch is chic and stylish with its beautifully varied texture and pretty color options. For a decent imitation of the real material, this leather handbag’s $355 price tag isn’t too bad.
