iSkin has released a sleek new computer case for carrying Apple's newest gadget, the iPad. Called the Aura, it's said that this sophisticated sleeve "starts where other folios end."

That may be a bit of marketing spin, but it's hard not to be impressed by this elegant technology case. Its metallic-brush fabric, in your choice of carbon, bronze, or sienna orange, looks the business, but the Aura's appeal is more than skin deep.

This clever case transforms into a display stand with a privacy shield to block glare on the screen. When it's sitting up in one of the three positions you can easily type on it, or show off your videos to friends, or presentations to clients.

The only disappointment for me is the lack of shoulder strap. That's not entirely unexpected for a laptop sleeve, but that sort of carrying convenience would be nice. At least the Aura's slim design allows it to slip inside a larger briefcase if you're facing a long commute.
