Bulgari has gone back to the vault to celebrate its 125th anniversary. The Italian luxury brand has revived classic collections – the Doppio Tondo, Leoni, Collezione 1910, and Twist – but given them modern makeovers.

The Doppio Tondo line retains the distinctive double overlapped round metallic rings engraved with the double "Bulgari" logo. These double rings take inspiration from the infinite loop, reminding us of the classic styling the brand represents. The wine red and forest green shades are new though, the jewel tones ideal for the cooler weather ahead.

We see the double logo again in the Twist, although this time it's printed on a duo of medallions. This season the line has a more relaxed feel thanks to the drawstring closure.

The Leoni bags are also a little more casual this time around, with their rounded corners. The original handles and clasps have also been moved to the center of the purse for a bold new look.

The Collezione 1910 hearkens back to the year the first Bulgari store opened in Rome. The collection features the brand's original Art Nouveau style advertisement printed on leather, oiled linen, or cotton canvas. Calfskin trimmings and handles add a little luxury to the less decadent fabrics, while the leather receives a special treatment for everyday use.

The retro Bulgari bags aren't cheap, with the leather purses clocking in at a few thousand a piece, but the classic styles might be worth a splurge.

This large carryall is anything but subtle. The vibrant color stripes help to spell out the XOXO name. Some feel all that obvious branding is a little obnoxious, but I'm sure die-hard fans will disagree. XOXO has never been a label to hide its heritage after all!

The price is an affordable $54 thanks to the practical canvas finish and synthetic leather trim. The canvas may not be as luxurious as leather, but it's strong enough to last a few seasons. The synthetic may be another matter though. I wouldn't be surprised to see telltale cracks show before too long.

The generous size makes this tote ideal for carrying books to class or swimwear to the beach in warmer weather. There are several pockets inside, complementing the roomy fabric lined space. With places for your spare change, cell phone, and PDA it's easy to keep this sizable space organized.

The combination of rainbow colors and white trim gives the Waterside tote an upbeat summery vibe, but if you're game you could definitely use it to brighten up a gloomy winter's day!

If you want a bag that will last for years, opt for one with more features than a pretty and probably fading transfer!

This particular bag does come in a variety of colours to keep things exciting, and will be really handy for nipping onshore and catching up on your shopping. A good few eye patches should fit inside this one (am I taking the analogy too far?)! If you want one for even cheaper than the $19.99 price tag, however, then why not think about transferring images onto your own plain bag?

Baggu's line of reusable shopping totes are environmentally-friendly, durable, and as stylish as a replacement for plastic grocery bags can be. Actually, these tough, little ripstop nylon bags are popular for more than just supermarket shopping since their cute style options, including stripes, florals, and other prints, make them appropriate for everyday use as well.

Well, now the company that brought you the Baggu Tote has added a new sibling to their collection of totes. Instead of ripstop nylon, however, this one is made from 100% recycled cotton canvas.

The recently debuted Duck Bag is as equally sturdy as the original Baggu Tote but with a different shape and convenient features. The short double handles don't seem very practical, but the longer adjustable shoulder strap is great for wearing across the body while running errands or toting around books, paperwork, or even a laptop.

For once, cute surf-wear designer Roxy has produced a hobo that is more about simplicity than canvas.

Where usually the designer's signature logos and prints are all over the bag, this simple Where It's At hobo has only plain and minimalist white synthetic. Suddenly this casual designer is more than appropriate for the office, and with the cool rounded shape of this slouchy tote, I expect it will have many admirers.

It will have even more when people see the $30 price tag, making the not only stylish but super affordable. Of course, good design and brilliant style only really work when they fit with the brand's aesthetic, and this is where the Roxy tote starts falling down.

There is no color in the bag. None at all. Even the lining, which would be a great opportunity to inject some of the Roxy spirit, is plain and simple white. There is no individuality, no flair.

All in all this is a functional and useful bag, even if the handles are a little short. But is it Roxy? Not even a little bit, so I worry that people will choose other cheap designers instead.

Bags just became more high-tech and eco-friendly thanks to G24 Innovations. The company has created dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), which are thin, inexpensive, and operable indoors. These innovative cells have become part of Mascotte's latest bag collection.

But why would anyone want a solar-powered bag, you ask? It's simple. Gadget lovers can charge up their cell phones, Kindles, and PDAs anywhere, any time. What a great idea for girls on the go!

The revolutionary solar-powered cells are light and bendable, so they're ideal the manufacture of canvas bag. Under sunny conditions, the bags can charge a cell phone in around four hours, while it could take as many as 12 hours indoors. The solar panels aren't as efficient as silicon ones, but they're much cheaper and easier to manufacture. Mascotte then pass those savings on to its customers.

Mascotte currently sells solar-powered knapsacks and business travel bags for between $100 and $300. That seems pricey at first, but they're only between $25 and $40 more than Mascotte's ordinary bags. Now the brand just needs some style pointers. Once they start producing cute girly totes, I'll snap one up.

Roxy is known for casual, carefree styles. That's exactly what you get with this Staying Alive Cross-Body tote bag.

Although not denim, it definitely has the appearance of a wonderfully broken-in, relaxed pair of jeans. In fact, it's not even leather but rather synthetic material that gives the impression of washed leather. Roxy gave us a double trompe l'oeil with this one.

Whatever impression the exterior has for you, the style is set in stone. The Staying Alive Cross-Body is nothing but casual cool with its multiple front pockets and cotton canvas adjustable strap. I wouldn't recommend carrying it to a business meeting unless flip-flops and sneakers are common accessories in the office, but it's perfect for pairing with jeans and a tee.

The nearly square shape of the bag makes it easy to store things of various sizes, and the outside pockets work well for holding small necessities. The top closes with a zipper and flaps over the front. The Roxy Staying Alive tote isn't enormous but rather decently mid-sized. However, for $38, you can't really go wrong with this one for an occasional laid-back bag.

Rampage is a typically affordable handbag brand but one that sometimes doesn't quite hit the mark for my personal taste. The pretty Michelle clutch is one of their styles that I can applaud, whereas the Amber tote is a bit too much like a circus tent for me.

That's why I was somewhat surprised to find this Hazel Hobo within a list of recent Rampage releases. Although I'm not sure what brands I might have placed it with, Rampage definitely would not have been one of them. There's a unique design sensibility to the Hazel that stands out as somehow both simple yet detailed.

Though certainly not the only color combination available, this light gray with brown is so appealing in its subtlety really allowing the details on the front to stand out. The quilted stitching on the synthetic leather is accentuated by the thin patent strips woven throughout. I was very disappointed to find that the interesting woven detail is not continued on the back of the hobo bag, but at least the quilting is repeated instead of having a plain back.

The opening of the purse closes with a magnetic snap, but there's also a functional drawstring that loops through the top of the hobo and allows you to cinch in the sides for either a little extra security or just a different shape. This Rampage Hazel bag retails for $98.

This bright patterned Kristy bag satchel from Fossil can easily add a little color to your everyday wardrobe.

The soft, round body reminds me a little of the Marni Balloon tote. Of course, the cloth body means it's not nearly as luxurious, or pricy. The bold, abstract pattern won't suit every taste, but it's a lot of fun. So I'm not sure why Fossil breaks it up with a wide woven brown band. I suppose this plain fabric tones the bag down a little, but it also makes the design look a little cluttered.

The cotton canvas finish doesn't just keep the price down. It also makes the Kristy very light to carry. What a blessing in such a large bag! Even when it's full, this satchel isn't likely to weigh you down. The spacious interior is a challenge to keep organized, but zip and slip pockets do their best to help you out.

The wooden handles give the Kristy a little retro flair, but they're not very practical. Polished wood may be smooth, but it never feels good in your hand for very long. Thankfully the satchel comes with a longer, and more functional, shoulder strap. It's a little skinnier than I'd like, but it does the job. If you'd prefer to use the smaller handles, just detach the shoulder strap for a clean look.
