I'm sure that Ghibli had the best of intentions when creating this jeweled evening purse. But somewhere along the way it seems its design vision when astray.

This is an ambitious purse, with golden brown stitching haphazardly snaking about the black patent leather body. To up the glam factor Ghibli seems to have thrown a handful of round Swarovski crystals. The aim was admirable, but the execution is just a bit messy. Nothing quite gels, and the appearance is quite confused. You might be able to pull it off if you're an envelope pushing pop star, but most of us will struggle to incorporate it into our evening wardrobe.

At least it's practical enough, at least as evening bags go. The chunky brass chain strap is a lovely complement to the stitched details. The dimensions are a little larger than your typically evening bag too, so you should be able to fit a few small extras inside.

I can't imagine carrying this purse but if you've got the confidence, and an edgy wardrobe to match, this Ghibli bag might work for you. If it does you'll be happy to know it's relatively affordable at $215.
