If the boxy shape of the Juliette Market Tote was a little too traditional for your taste, feast your eyes on this versatile Stasha carry-all from Emilie Sloan.

This bag is available in the same art deco and floral prints, but its design is a lot more unusual. Initially, there's very little to separate it from the Juliette. But fasten the clasps inside and that traditional tote shape converts to this smaller, angled design. It's unusual for a tote to change to a more compact configuration, but this was already so large that I don't mind losing a little storage space.

For $64, it's no surprise that the finish isn't luxurious. But while PVC might not be opulent, it does have its advantages. Its glossy coating makes it rain resistant, and it's easy to clean with a damp cloth.

Sturdy straps are woven from material which reminds me a lot of seatbelts. This material might not be the most stylish choice, at least we know we won't have to contend with broken handles in future!
