DKNY isn't the most extravagant line out there, nor is it the most original. Its talent lies in creating affordable, stylish bags of good quality that are consistent with today's trends. This textured leather shoulder bag is a great example of this.

The textured black leather on this tote gives it a softened, casual look. With a smoother, stiffer leather it would have looked a little prissy and old-fashioned, but the texture is just right for a great contemporary bag.

The shape is nothing ground-breaking, but it is solid and practical. The streamlined shape looks tailored, but the slight rounding at the corners keeps it from looking too harsh. The turnlock closure is a nice touch, aesthetically, but as far as safety goes I'd prefer a zipper top. The leather and chain strap is a great modern touch that works well with the overall design.

You really can't beat this bag's $225 price tag. It's beautiful and practical and will hold its looks far past this season.
