The Huarache shoulder bag from Cole Haan is one of those special purses that makes me look twice.

The style is simple enough, with its familiar triangular shape and structured design. The ivory shade too is nothing new. But the devil's definitely in the details here. The scored motif almost resembles a starburst radiating from the center of the bag. It works with the tightly woven center strip to create a look which seems to take its cues from classic Mayan art. It's like nothing I've seen in this season's purses, which might just be why it works so well.

The ivory leather may not be the most practical choice, but at least Cole Haan hasn’t forgotten about functionality altogether. It's described as a small purse, but that's all relative these days. I could easily fit the things I need to get through the day inside, and while there wouldn't be a lot of space to spare I think that's all most women want. A zippered pocket and two open slips take care of our smaller items, leaving the rest of the room for a chunky wallet and sunglasses.
